The State Associates Council are OSHBA members who are not builders, remodelers or developers. Instead they own or work for firms or corporations engaged in a trade, industry or profession related to homebuilding. Members of the council include, but are not limited to, salespeople, marketing professionals, realtors and insurance brokers. The Council works alongside the Board of Directors and staff in accomplishing the goals of OSHBA. Their top activities include implementing the annual golf tournament and the annual convention. The 2008 chair is Reese Wilmoth with Boral Bricks Inc.

Associate members from all of the various local associations are encouraged and welcomed to assist the council in growing the industry. The State Associates Council meets about three times a year so it is not a time consuming commitment.

The 2008 Annual Golf tournament will be held April 21 at the River Oaks Golf Club in Oklahoma City. This semi-private course is located on Hefner Road just east of I-35. Terry Jennings is the tournament director.

Coming in July, 2008, will be the annual OSHBA summer convention. This convention has started a new tradition of being an education bonanza and a great time to network with fellow builders and associates. The Council is active in sponsoring a "table-top" night (where vendors can show their products) as well as conducting the annual silent auction that has helped fund several scholarships across Oklahoma.
